Summer e-Commerce highlights for summer 2015
Books, travel and clothing: thanks to the expectation of summer in the quarter between January and March, these are the categories shot at the top of the online purchases of Italians. This is what emerges from the last e-Commerce Index created by Netcomm with the support of Human Highway, previewed byHANDLE, according to which the Italians who bought online were almost 17 million, 55.1% of the population connected to the internet.
The quarterly analysis highlights some data: of the Italians who have shopped online, the majority - 6 out of 10 - are at least 15 years old and a regular user of the internet. Those who buy online at least 3 times every quarter are 11 million, the 36% of Internet users, and correspond to the segment of repeat buyers responsible for the 88% of the value of purchases.
According to Netcomm, data analysis highlights how Italians are less and less wary of the possibility of buying online to the point that only 5.7% of users do not trust to pay on the internet. Among the advantages of using the e-commerce tool we find the convenience and benefits that are derived from determining the choice of purchase through the network and the delivery of physical products purchased online directly at home.
Among the summer e-Commerce in evidence in the last period, which precedes the arrival of the summer holidays, readings, travels and clothing stand out. Books climb the online shopping chart with 15.4%, followed by travel tickets (13.1%) and clothing (12.5%). The categories that have seen an increase in purchases are directly related to leisure.

e-Commerce on the rise in Italy: consumer confidence is growing
The situation of e-commerce in Italy is growth in some well-differentiated sectors: in the last quarter, online purchases attracted 16.9 million individuals, that is 55.1% of Italians who access the internet in Italy. There are 11 million individuals who buy online at least 3 times every quarter, that is 36.0% of internet users and make up the segment of repeat buyers, responsible for the 88% of the value of purchases (according to Netcomm data).
